Debunking Myths Around Laser Hair Removal: Insights from a Top Oakville Clinic

Laser hair removal in Oakville has risen to prominence as a sought-after cosmetic solution, offering numerous benefits for both men and women. Despite its growing popularity, there’s a cloud of myths and misconceptions surrounding this technology, particularly in areas beyond the legs, such as Brazilian laser hair removal or facial treatments. Embrace the convenience of laser hair removal and bid farewell to the constant chore of shaving or the discomfort of waxing.

Let’s clear up five widespread myths about laser hair removal:

Myth 1: Instant Results After One Session

Contrary to popular belief, saying goodbye to hair in just one session is unrealistic. Hair grows in cycles, and because of this, it typically takes about 6-12 sessions to eliminate hair in a targeted area effectively. The exact number of sessions varies depending on individual factors and the specific area being treated. We recommend a personalized consultation at your nearby Oakville clinic to determine the best treatment plan for lasting hair removal results.

Myth 2: Treatment Spurs More Hair Growth

Everyone’s hair growth patterns are unique, and so are their responses to laser hair removal. It’s a misconception that the treatment causes increased hair growth. Some people naturally experience changes in hair growth over time. When you observe new hair growth post-treatment, it’s just your body’s natural cycle at work. Laser technology targets existing hair follicles; it doesn’t stimulate new growth.

Myth 3: Ineffective on Certain Hair Colours & Skin Tones

There’s a lingering belief that laser hair removal is only effective on dark hair against lighter skin. While it’s true that those with higher contrast between hair and skin colour were initially better candidates, advancements in technology have expanded the efficacy of laser hair removal for individuals with lighter hair and darker skin tones. Modern lasers are more versatile, offering effective hair removal options for a broader range of hair colours and skin types.

Myth 4: Skipping the Consultation is Fine

One common oversight is underestimating the importance of a pre-treatment consultation. Laser hair removal isn’t a one-size-fits-all process. Each person’s hair characteristics vary, making a professional consultation crucial to customize the treatment plan. You may need more than copying someone else’s treatment regimen, as factors like hair density, colour, skin tone, and type play significant roles in determining the appropriate treatment strategy.

Myth 5: The Process is Painful

Early laser hair removal technologies weren’t entirely pain-free, but thanks to technological advancements, discomfort is now minimal. While some redness and irritation might occur, these side effects typically vanish within a few hours. If you have sensitive skin, the clinic can advise on ways to reduce discomfort, especially for treatments in more sensitive areas like Brazilian laser hair removal.

At Dermazone, our experienced technicians are committed to providing safe, effective, and comfortable laser hair removal treatments. As a leading laser clinic in Oakville, we prioritize your comfort throughout the entire process, catering to both men and women for hair removal on any body part.

Smoothing Your Path to Laser Hair Removal: The Right Sunscreen Strategy

Are you gearing up for laser hair removal? That’s great! But have you thought about how important sunscreen is in this journey? Trust me, it’s a game-changer and deserves your attention just as much as choosing the right clinic. So, let’s dive into why picking the right sunscreen is crucial for your laser hair removal journey and how to do it smartly.

Understanding Sunscreen Types for Laser Sessions

When it comes to laser hair removal, protecting your skin from the sun is vital. However, not all sunscreens are created equal, especially for this process. There are two main types: physical and chemical. Let’s unpack these a bit.

Physical Sunscreens: Your Go-To Shield

Physical sunscreens containing Zinc Oxide or Titanium Dioxide act like a warrior’s shield. They sit on your skin and reflect those harsh UV rays away. People often favour them with sensitive skin, as they’re less likely to irritate. Think of them as a gentle yet effective barrier.

Chemical Sunscreens: The Absorbers

Now, chemical sunscreens are the ninjas of sun protection. Ingredients like avobenzone or oxybenzone absorb UV rays and transform them into heat, which is then released from the skin. They’re usually easier to rub in and less noticeable. However, they can be irritating for some, especially if you’ve sensitive skin.

Why Physical Sunscreen Wins for Laser Hair Removal

When undergoing laser treatments, your skin becomes extra sensitive to sunlight. Here’s why physical sunscreen is your best bet:

Immediate Protection

Physical sunscreens start protecting you the moment you apply them. No waiting around. And when you’re dealing with laser-treated skin, you need that instant shield.

Minimizes Skin Sensitivity

Physical sunscreens are less likely to irritate your laser-treated skin because they’re less likely to penetrate the skin deeply. It’s like choosing a soft blanket over a scratchy, woollen sweater for your skin.

Water and Sweat Resistance

Are you planning to be active or out in the sun? Physical sunscreens won’t bail on you. They stick around even if you’re sweating or take a quick dip.

Broad-Spectrum Defense

UVA? UVB? Physical sunscreens have got you covered on both fronts. This broad protection is essential, especially after laser treatments.

The Downside of Chemical Sunscreens in Laser Treatment

Why might chemical sunscreens not be ideal here? Well, they absorb UV rays and generate heat. That’s because it’s similar to what the laser does. This extra heat isn’t what your skin needs right now. Plus, if the sunscreen penetrates deeply, it could interfere with the laser targeting those hair follicles.

Our Sunscreen Recommendation for Laser Hair Removal

We’re big fans of medical-grade physical sunscreens for laser hair removal, especially those with Zinc Oxide. These offer top-notch protection, are kinder to sensitive skin, and don’t mess with your laser treatment.

Why We Love Medical-Grade Sunscreens

  • Quality Ingredients: They pack the best and kindest ingredients for your skin.
  • Broad-Spectrum Protection: They’ve got you covered against all harmful rays.
  • Suitable for All Skin Types: Whether your skin is oily, dry, or a combo, there’s a formulation for you.
  • No White Cast: Modern formulations blend beautifully without leaving you looking like a ghost.
  • Dermatologist-Approved: These sunscreens are often recommended by skin experts.

Laser Hair Removal for Sensitive Areas: Is It Safe and Effective?

Laser hair removal has become a go-to solution for many to get rid of unwanted hair. But a big question often arises: Can you safely use laser hair removal on sensitive areas? Let’s dive into this topic and shed some light on what you need to know.

Understanding Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is a popular cosmetic procedure using concentrated light to target hair follicles and inhibit growth. It’s known for its precision and effectiveness, but people understandably have concerns when it comes to sensitive areas like the bikini line, underarms, or face.

Is It Safe for Sensitive Areas?

Yes, it is. Laser hair removal can be safely performed on sensitive areas, but there are a few things to consider:

  • Skin Sensitivity: Everyone’s skin reacts differently. While the procedure is generally safe, those with sensitive skin might experience more discomfort.
  • Expertise Matters: The skill of the practitioner plays a crucial role. Experienced technicians understand how to adjust the laser settings for sensitive areas.

Preparing for Your Session

Before you dive in, here’s how to prepare for a laser hair removal session:

  • Consultation is Key: Always start with a consultation. Discuss your skin type, hair colour, and any skin sensitivity issues.
  • Avoid Tanning: Stay out of the sun before your session. Tanned skin can increase the risk of side effects.
  • Shave the Area: Shaving before your appointment is recommended, as it allows the laser to target the hair follicle more effectively.

During the Procedure

Here’s what happens during the session:

  • Protective Measures: You’ll be given protective eyewear to shield your eyes from the laser.
  • Adjusting the Laser: The technician will change the laser settings based on your skin type and the area being treated.
  • Sensation: You might feel snapping like a rubber band flicking against your skin.

Post-Treatment Care

Aftercare is crucial, especially for sensitive areas:

  • Avoid Sun Exposure: Keep the treated area out of the sun to prevent irritation.
  • Gentle Skin Care: Use mild, fragrance-free products to avoid irritating the skin.
  • Patience is Key: You may need multiple sessions for optimal results.

What to Expect

After your sessions, you can expect:

  • Reduced Hair Growth: Over time, you’ll notice less hair growth in the treated area.
  • Smoother Skin: Many people enjoy smoother skin due to reduced hair growth.

Are There Any Risks?

Like any cosmetic procedure, there are risks:

  • Skin Irritation: Redness and swelling are joint but usually temporary.
  • Pigmentation Changes: There might be slight skin colour changes, especially for darker skin.

Final Thoughts

Laser hair removal can be a safe and effective way to handle unwanted hair in sensitive areas, provided it’s done by skilled professionals. If you’re considering this procedure, remember that preparation, proper care, and choosing the right clinic are key to a successful experience.

Choosing the Right Clinic

This brings us to an important point: choosing the right clinic. This is where Dermazone comes into the picture. At Dermazone, we understand the delicacy required for treating sensitive areas. How do you prepare for microneedling?

Microneedling is a buzzword in the beauty world and for a good reason. It’s a procedure where tiny needles prick your skin, prompting it to rejuvenate by making more collagen. Think of it as a high-tech way to get your skin up its game. But before you take the plunge, knowing how to prepare your skin for the best possible results is essential. So, here’s a down-to-earth guide on how to prepare for microneedling.

Understanding Microneedling

First things first, let’s understand what microneedling is. It’s not as scary as it sounds. Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment designed to improve the look of scars, boost collagen. Tiny needles create minor wounds in the skin, which, in turn, heal and make your skin look younger and fresher.

Before Your Appointment

Preparation for microneedling doesn’t start the day of your appointment; it starts in advance. Your skin must be in the best possible shape before those needles come near you. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Say No to Certain Medications and Supplements

About a week before your session, you’ll want to stop taking certain over-the-counter medications and supplements. This includes anything that can thin your blood, like ibuprofen and aspirin, and supplements like fish oil and vitamin E. These can increase your risk of bruising.

  1. Put a Pause on Other Skin Treatments

To give your skin a break, halt any other facial treatments at least two weeks before your microneedling session. This includes chemical peels, laser treatments, and even over-the-counter retinol creams. Your skin should not be irritated or inflamed when you go in.

  1. Protect Your Skin from the Sun

Sunburned skin is a no-go for microneedling. Make sure to use sunscreen and avoid tanning beds and prolonged sun exposure. Not only is tanned skin more prone to damage, but the treatment will be less effective, too.

  1. Stay Hydrated and Healthy

Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment. Hydrated skin is healthy skin, and healthy skin recovers faster. Also, rescheduling might be best if you’re feeling under the weather. Your body should be in tip-top shape for the best healing.

On the Day of Your Treatment

The day has arrived, and it’s almost time for your microneedling session. Here’s how to get ready:

  1. Cleanse Your Skin

Come to your appointment with a clean face. This means no makeup, lotions, or serums. Your specialist will probably cleanse your skin again, but starting with a clean base is always best.

  1. Eat a Good Meal

You don’t want to feel faint during the procedure, so eat a balanced meal before you go. This will keep your blood sugar levels stable.

  1. Dress Comfortably

Wear loose, comfortable clothing. You’ll sit or lie down for a while, so be comfortable. Also, if you’re getting treatment in an area that’s not your face, ensure it’s easily accessible.

After Your Microneedling Session

Congratulations, you’ve made it through your microneedling treatment! But the care doesn’t stop when the session is over. Here’s what to do post-treatment:

  1. Be Gentle with Your Skin

Your skin will be sensitive after microneedling. Use gentle, soothing products that your specialist recommends. Avoid anything abrasive or harsh for at least a week.

  1. Skip the Workout

Give the gym a miss for a couple of days. Sweating and the bacteria in gyms can irritate your freshly treated skin.

  1. Stay Cool

Avoid hot showers, saunas, and steam rooms for the first few days after your treatment. Heat can inflame your skin, which isn’t what you want when it’s healing.

  1. Mind the Sun

Your skin will be extra sensitive to the Sun, so sunscreen is necessary. It’s always a must, but it’s essential now.

  1. Hydrate Inside and Out

Keep drinking water, and use a hyaluronic acid serum to keep your skin hydrated from the outside.

By following these simple steps, you’re setting yourself up for a successful microneedling experience. You’re helping your skin heal, giving you that glowing, youthful look you’re after.

Remember, preparation is key to any skincare treatment, and microneedling is no different.

DermaZone has you covered. Our microneedling service is designed to rejuvenate your complexion with minimal downtime. Unveiling the Precision and Comfort of Laser Hair Removal: Is it Right for You?

Laser hair removal is a beacon of innovation for smooth, hair-free skin. It’s a world where the hassle of daily shaving, the pain of waxing, and the frustration of fast-reappearing stubble can become a thing of the past. But what exactly is laser hair removal, and is it the right choice for you?

Understanding the Laser Technique

Laser hair removal works like this: a strong beam of light zeroes in on individual hairs. This light is soaked up by the colour in your hair, heating it and zapping the hair follicle to slow down any future growth. People like this method because it’s precise, and the smoothness lasts for a while. It’s become the go-to for anyone wanting to reduce how often they have to deal with unwanted hair.

What to Expect from the Procedure

The journey to hairless skin is not a single-step process. It typically requires multiple sessions, as the laser is most effective when hairs are in the growth stage, and not all hairs will be in this phase simultaneously. During the procedure, you might feel snapping, like a rubber band being flicked against your skin. Still, many find this discomfort far less intimidating than other hair removal methods.

Who Can Benefit from Laser Hair Removal?

Laser hair removal can be an excellent option for many, but it works best for individuals who contrast their hair colour and skin tone—thick dark hair against fair skin. The clearer the difference between hair and skin colour, the easier it is for the laser to do its job. But, thanks to the leaps and bounds we’ve made in laser tech, this option also opens up to those with darker skin. Before diving in, it’s wise to chat with a specialist who can tell you whether laser hair removal is a good fit for your unique skin and hair situation.

Preparing for Your Sessions

Preparation is vital to a successful laser hair removal experience. Avoid sun exposure and tanning treatments, and refrain from plucking or waxing for at least six weeks before your treatment. Shaving is acceptable, as it preserves the hair follicle, which is crucial for targeting the laser. On the day of the session, your skin should be clean and free of any products.

Post-Treatment Care and Expectations

After treatment, you may experience some redness and swelling of the hair follicle . These symptoms are typically short-lived and a sign that the follicles have responded to the treatment. It’s vital to protect the treated area from the sun and follow any specific aftercare instructions provided by your specialist.

The Long-Term Outlook

One of the most appealing aspects of laser hair removal is its long-term effectiveness. While it may not permanently remove every hair, it significantly reduces hair growth so you can ditch your regular shaving or waxing routine. Some may need touch-up sessions every year, but many experience a lasting smoothness that makes the initial investment of time and money worthwhile.

Cost Considerations

Laser hair removal is an investment in both time and money. Costs can vary widely depending on the size of the area being treated and the number of sessions required. While it may seem pricey upfront compared to a bottle of shaving cream or a pack of razors, reducing or eliminating the need for those regular purchases could save you money in the long run.

Choosing the Right Provider

Not all laser hair removal experiences are created equal. The key to a successful treatment lies in choosing a reputable provider. Look for a certified dermatologist or a licensed technician with a track record of safety and success. It’s your skin, after all, so entrusting it to the hands of a professional is a must.

Is Laser Hair Removal Right for You?

Deciding if laser hair removal is suitable for you depends on several factors. Consider your skin type, hair colour, budget, and desire for long-term results.

Step into the world of effortless grooming with DermaZone’s state-of-the-art laser hair removal in Oakville, ON. Say goodbye to the endless cycle of shaving and waxing and hello to silky-smooth skin. Our skilled professionals and advanced technology promise precision, comfort, and results you’ll love. Key Considerations Before Opting for Laser Hair Removal

Hair removal is a personal choice, and there are numerous methods available. Laser hair removal is a popular and effective method that’s gained traction in recent years. This technique uses laser light to target and destroy hair follicles, reducing hair growth over time. Before jumping into it, however, weighing several factors is essential. Here’s a breakdown to guide you through your decision-making process.

  1. Skin and Hair Type

Laser hair removal is most effective on individuals with light skin and dark hair because the laser targets the melanin (pigment) in the hair. However, advancements in laser technology have made it possible for people with darker skin tones or lighter hair to benefit. It’s vital to consult with a specialist to determine the best laser type for your skin and hair combination.

  1. Cost

Laser hair removal can lead to long-term hair reduction, but it usually requires multiple sessions. The total cost can be significant, depending on the area being treated and your geographical location. Remember to factor in the price for the entire set of treatments when budgeting.

  1. Pain and Discomfort

While many describe the sensation as a rubber band snapping against the skin, everyone’s pain tolerance varies. Some areas of the body may be more sensitive than others. Many clinics offer numbing creams or cooling devices to make the experience more comfortable.

  1. Preparation and Aftercare

Before undergoing laser hair removal, you’ll need to avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for several weeks, as tan skin can increase the risk of side effects. Post-treatment, you’ll also need to keep the treated area out of the sun and avoid certain activities, like swimming, for a specified period.

  1. Potential Side Effects

While laser hair removal is generally safe when performed by trained professionals, there’s a risk of side effects. These can range from redness and swelling to severe issues like burns or skin discoloration. Always choose a reputable clinic to minimize risks.

  1. The Longevity of Results

Laser hair removal doesn’t guarantee permanent hair elimination, but it does lead to significant hair reduction. Some individuals may require touch-up sessions once or twice a year to maintain results.

  1. Time Commitment

Each laser hair removal session can last a few minutes to an hour, depending on the treatment area. Additionally, you’ll need multiple sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart. Ensure you’re ready for this time commitment before starting the process.

  1. Review Clinic Credentials

Not all laser hair removal clinics offer the same quality of service. Do your research. Check for licensed professionals, read reviews, and schedule a consultation. Ensure the clinic’s equipment is up-to-date and has a history of satisfied clients.

  1. Know the Alternatives

While laser hair removal is effective and long-lasting, it might only be for some. Familiarize yourself with other hair removal options, like waxing, shaving, or electrolysis, to make an informed choice.

  1. Set Realistic Expectations

Laser hair removal can significantly reduce hair growth, but it might not eliminate every single hair. Understand that results can vary based on numerous factors, including hormonal changes or the treatment area.

Conclusion

Considering the above factors, you’ll be well-equipped to make an informed decision. Laser hair removal might be the answer, whether you’re aiming for smoother skin, reduced hair growth, or simply seeking a long-term solution to frequent shaving or waxing. Always prioritize safety and professionalism, and don’t hesitate to ask questions or seek recommendations. Your journey to smoother, hair-free skin begins with informed choices.

Common Misconceptions About Laser Hair Removal

Today, it’s easy for misconceptions to spread, especially about newer technologies and treatments. One such treatment, laser hair removal, is often surrounded by myths that can cause unnecessary concern or confusion. To help set the record straight, we’ve split some of the most common myths about laser hair removal.

  1. Laser Hair Removal is Only for Women

This is not true. Laser hair removal is for anyone who wants to reduce unwanted hair. Many men undergo the procedure to thin out or remove hair from their backs, chests, or other areas. It’s a solution for everyone, regardless of gender.

  1. It’s a Painful Process

While pain tolerance varies from person to person, most people describe laser hair removal as feeling like a rubber band snap against the skin. Modern lasers often come with cooling mechanisms to reduce discomfort. If you’re concerned about pain, you can discuss pain management options with your technician.

  1. It Causes More Hair to Grow

There’s no scientific evidence to support this claim. Laser hair removal targets hair follicles to decrease hair growth. However, hormonal changes or other factors can cause new hair growth, which is unrelated to the treatment.

  1. Results are Instantaneous

Patience is key. Laser hair removal is a process. While you might notice a reduction after the first session, it typically takes several sessions to see significant results. Hair grows in different stages, and the laser is most effective during growth.

  1. It’s Too Expensive

While initial costs might seem high, consider it a long-term investment. Over time, you may save money and time you would have otherwise spent on waxing, shaving, or other temporary hair removal methods.

  1. It’s Only Suitable for Light Skin and Dark Hair

While early laser hair removal technology was best suited for light-skinned individuals with dark hair, today’s advanced lasers can treat a broader range of skin and hair types. Consult with a specialist to determine the best approach for your unique needs.

  1. Home Laser Kits are Just as Effective

Home kits might be convenient, but they are less powerful than professional-grade lasers. For safer and more effective results, it’s recommended to have laser hair removal performed by trained professionals in a controlled environment.

  1. It’s Only for Certain Parts of the Body

Laser hair removal can be performed on almost any part of the body. The procedure is versatile, from the face and underarms to the legs and bikini line. However, there are sensitive areas where the process might not be recommended, so always consult with a specialist.

  1. Lasers Can Cause Skin Damage

When done correctly by trained professionals, laser hair removal is safe. The lasers are designed to target hair follicles without damaging the surrounding skin. That said, following post-treatment care instructions is essential to prevent any potential side effects.

  1. It’s a Permanent Solution

Laser hair removal offers long-lasting results, but it might not be permanent for everyone. Some people might require touch-up sessions over the years, mainly due to factors like hormonal changes.

Conclusion

As with many things, it’s crucial to separate fact from fiction. Laser hair removal is an effective and safe method for reducing unwanted hair, but it’s always best to be informed and consult with professionals. By debunking these myths, we hope to provide clarity for those considering this popular treatment. Before making any decisions, research, ask questions, and choose a reputable clinic. After all, knowledge is power. Contact DermaZone Medical Spa for the best Laser hair removal services in Oakville, ON.

One of the most popular reasons to get a photofacial is to lighten and remove hyperpigmentation (dark spots). The light emitted in an IPL treatment breaks down the melanin (which causes dark colour) in sun damage (age spots) and freckles for a more even complexion.

Note that IPL is not the right solution for melasma. To treat pigmentation related to hormonal changes, we recommend Vivier’s Hyperpigmentation Program (topical skincare treatment), or micro-needling, or chemical peels, all of which are available at our Oakville location.

IPL Treatment for Antiaging

IPL not only reverses signs of aging, but it also helps keep skin looking younger for longer. Photofacial IPL activates collagen and elastin production in your skin. These proteins make young skin look plush, firm, and smooth.

That means IPL not only works to improve skin at the surface, but it also builds younger skin from the inside out.

IPL Treatment for Acne

IPL photofacials can be an effective treatment for acne. It directs the intense pulsed light into the deeper layers of skin (the dermis) where acne starts. IPL destroys acne-causing bacteria under the skin and disables overactive oil glands.

Unlike laser treatments, IPL does not damage the top layer of the skin. With IPL, there’s less downtime, and you don’t have to worry about aggravating skin already inflamed with acne. The result is a more even, calm complexion and fewer breakouts.

IPL Treatment For Rosacea

Photofacials are a very effective treatment for symptoms of rosacea, which include skin flushing (redness), visible spider veins, irritation (inflammation), and bumps (papules and pustules) caused by dilated and broken blood vessels beneath the skin.

Intense pulses of light create heat under the skin, destroying damaged capillaries without harming the skin. With sufficient IPL sessions, you’ll notice a more even skin tone and calmer skin. Photofacial also calms the irritation and itchiness associated with rosacea.

IPL (Photofacial) Treatments are Affordable, Fast & Convenient

IPL photofacials deliver impressive, skin-rejuvenating results. IPL is also cost-effective and requires little treatment time or downtime.

Cost For IPL Treatment

The total cost of IPL varies based on the condition of your skin, the area you’d like treated, and your goals.

When you come in for a free consultation at our Oakville medical spa, we’ll assess your skin and recommend a series of treatments, each at a set cost.

DermaZone photofacial costs are competitive with IPL treatments in Mississauga and Burlington. You may find that our Oakville medical aesthetics are more affordable than Toronto IPL, where rates are highest.

How Many IPL Treatments Needed

How many IPL treatments you need depends on your unique skin.

To minimize the signs of sun damage, one to three sessions per year may be enough to promote collagen and elastin while breaking down age spots. For extensive sun damage, freckling, ongoing acne, and rosacea, more sessions may be required.

Preparing for IPL

When you make an IPL appointment at our Oakville clinic, we’ll remind you of the dos and don’ts involved in photofacial. These include:

Protect your skin with 30+ SPF and avoid tanning before and after photofacials
Do not apply self-tanner for two weeks before IPL
Avoid alcohol for two days before treatment
Talk to your medical aesthetician if you take any medications, including over-the-counter pain medications
Until after your IPL sessions are complete, avoid retinol, glycolic acid, and other skin products that cause sensitivity

Downtime After IPL Photofacial

Photofacial downtime is relatively short compared to downtime for a deep chemical peel or laser skin resurfacing because IPL targets cells deeper in the skin. The intense pulsed light improves the skin surface by acting beneath the surface.

You can expect redness in the treated area and possibly swelling for 24-48 hours. Apply cold compresses to soothe the skin and expect to resume normal activities after about two days.

Any sun damage and freckles will darken when healing. IPL breaks up the pigment in the deeper layers of the skin, and that melanin rises to the surface before naturally flaking off. This typically takes a week or ten days.

Avoid exfoliating during the healing period, and treat your skin gently. Wash your face in lukewarm water, and avoid hot showers and saunas. Continue to avoid retinol and other active ingredients that can irritate your skin while it heals.

You may notice that your skin feels drier and itchier. Use plenty of moisturizers and keep hydrated. After a few days to a week, most IPL clients don’t notice any side effects.

Within a few weeks, you’ll enjoy the full results: brighter, noticeably more even, and younger-looking skin.
